As the original designer of pectoral implants, Dr. Gary F. Horn has the experience and artistic eye to to redefine patients’ chests and enhance their confidence in their appearance. Dr. Horn’s pectoral implant design, created in 2003, is now used worldwide. Pectoral implants are made of silicone gel and are shaped like the pectoral muscles. The implants come in different sizes so patients can achieve the degree of muscular definition they desire. Dr. Horn can place pectoral implants for male patients in Paris, London, and Brussels to sculpt a more masculine and symmetrical physique.
Who is a Candidate for Pectoral Implants?
Pectoral implants are appropriate for men who have been unable to achieve good muscular definition through healthy diet and exercise. Implants can also help patients struggling with asymmetry between the muscles due to a deformity, surgical complications, or any other reason.

Dr. Horn frequently places pectoral implants in patients who have undergone gynecomastia surgery. This procedure is performed on men with enlarged breasts to reduce excess tissue and create a more balanced chest. All patients who are interested in implants need to be in good health to reduce their risk of complications. You will also need to have realistic expectations of your surgical outcome.
Pectoral Implant Placement
Unless it is combined with gynecomastia surgery, the placement of pectoral implants typically takes less than an hour. The procedure is performed under general anesthesia. To place the implants, Dr. Horn creates an incision in each armpit, inserts them, and places the implants in a pocket beneath the chest muscle. While it is possible to place the implants above the chest muscle, placing them beneath the muscle creates a more natural look and feel. Once the implants are in place, Dr. Horn will suture the incisions closed.
Pectoral implant placement requires an overnight stay. Patients are given a support garment to wear over the course of three weeks which will aid healing and proper contouring. Most patients can return to work within one to two weeks, but Dr. Horn advises patients to wait about six weeks before returning to the gym or other types of exercise.
Surgical Results
It can take several weeks or more for the final results of pectoral implants to become visible as swelling and bruising subsides over time. Because the incisions are placed in the armpit, they are virtually undetectable. Pectoral implants last, on average, about 10 years. After that time, Dr. Horn can either remove the implants or replace them. With Dr. Horn’s extensive knowledge and expertise in this area of cosmetic surgery, patients can expect more muscular definition, improved symmetry, and natural-looking results.
Pectoral implants can create a more muscular and masculine figure overall, in addition to improved proportions. An inability to achieve a defined chest can create self-esteem issues for many men. Pectoral implants can significantly restore a man’s confidence. Men who receive pectoral implants following gynecomastia surgery experience even more dramatic results that can significantly improve their quality of life.
